We appreciate all those who are participating in the liturgical celebrations and other parish activities, especially in these challenging times. While appreciating your participation, we encourage all baptized Catholics, who live within the parish boundaries of Sacred Heart, Newport and Our Lady of Guadalupe, Siletz, and who would like to be a part of the Sacred Heart Community, to formally register with us and become an "active member". An "active member" of a parish is typically someone, who is formally registered in the parish, participates at Holy Mass, and contributes to the life/maintenance of the parish.
Registering with us will help us to better serve you and your spiritual needs. It is the hope and prayer of the pastor and the parish leadership that every baptized Catholic in this area can be helped to develop a closer relationship with Jesus Christ and His Church, progressing on their journey to eternal salvation. Parish membership (Formal Registration) is also a condition for the reception of the Sacraments of Baptism, First Holy Communion, Confirmation and Marriage. Registration is also required before the parish can issue a sponsorship certificate for those asked to be sacramental sponsors.
If you are not receiving weekly contribution envelopes, then chances are you are not formally registered. So, please be formally registered and become an "active member" of Sacred Heart Parish. For more information, please contact the parish office. 541-265-5101.
