Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church is firmly rooted in offering the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, where Jesus offers himself to the Father through the work of the Holy Spirit for the salvation and good of all her people and of the world.
The Eucharist, our Lord Jesus Christ, is the fount and summit of all Christian life (1). It strengthens us and animates our life. It is the source of all that almighty God bestows upon us. The fruits of the faithful reception of Holy Communion (2) are to become manifest in our daily lives through the Spiritual and Corporal Works of Mercy (3) and the virtue of Charity (love of God and neighbor) (4). It is through our participation in the Eucharist, our practice of the virtue of charity, and our commitment to lifelong faith formation that we are able to be witnesses to the love and mercy of God and spread the Gospel to the people of the Central Oregon Coast and beyond.
ARCHDIOCESAN STATEMENT ON MASK REQUIREMENT
Due to the spike in COVID-19 hospitalizations being driven by the spread of the highly contagious Delta variant, following the executive order of the Governor, the Archdiocese of Portland, with a pastoral responsibility to attempt to mitigate the risks for parishioners and school families, states:
"Effective this Friday (Aug 13, 2021), face masks are required for all adults and children older than 5 gathered in all Catholic Churches in the Archdiocese of Portland in Oregon. The use of face masks is required for all indoor faith gatherings and meetings. Social distancing and capacity limits are not currently in effect. In charity, we must do our part to help stop the spread of this dangerous variant. ”
